Glastonbury Ukulele
Band
There is a new specialty band in town!
They call themselves the Glastonbury Ukulele Band.
Jim Rosokoff has organized, taught, and directed this group of players
over the last 2-3 years.
Two of the main groups that comprise the band are The Glastonbury
Silver Strummers (from the Senior Center) and the Gideon
Welles Ukuladies (6th graders from Gideon Welles School).
Therefore, they include 11 year olds and some in their 70's and 80's.
They have been performing for sing-alongs of the old songs at local
fundraisers and parties. The group is about 15 strong, but is growing
as more people pick up the uke and learn.

John
Fellows Senior Big Band
Local senior musicians who have been around the Big Band business for
years have formed a great group in the tradition of the Big Band era.
Led by trumpeter John Fellows, they practice Thursday mornings in the
Senior Center in Manchester. Their" book" is comprised of
old standards; many in the original arrangements by the masters. Expect
them to play such pieces as "In the Mood", "I'm Gettin'
Sentimental Over You", "String of Pears", and great
classics of the 30's and 40's. You'll be tapping your foot and humming
along to the familiar blended mix of sax, clarinet, trumpet, trombone,
guitar, piano, drums and vocal soloists. Available for special events,
