Manchester
Citadel Band
The Manchester Citadel Band was formed in 1885 to provide musical support
to The Salvation Army's ministry. Today, the band, under the leadership
of Bandmaster Michael Orfitelli, plays each Sunday at The Salvation Army,
661 Main Street, Manchester and does special concerts throughout the year.

Manchester
Symphony Orchestra and Chorale
A leading cultural resource for Manchester, CT, and the surrounding
communities. Su8pported by donors and contributions. Auditions are
necessary for this magnificent orchestra and chorale. Check
the website for special events and concerts throughout the season.
Rehearsals are generally on Monday evenings. The new music directors
are Lew Buckley for the orchestra and Kevin Mack for the Chorale.

August
Curtis Memorial Concert Band
Meriden:
This civic group is composed primarily of musicians who play for the
love of music. The group is non-profit, non-paying and sponsored by the
Augusta Curtis Memorial Culture Center and is open to anyone above the
age of 15 wishing to join. Students who are below the age of 15 must
have a recommendation letter from his/her music teacher attesting to
the level and maturity of the student.
The group was founded in 2006 with several members of the original Meriden
City Band that disbanded in 1982.”We are always looking for individuals
who want to play, whether it has been a year or 20 years since you’ve
played, we want you!” We’ll even help you fix up or purchase
an instrument.
The band performed their first concert on July 28, 2006 with a packed
house and was very well received by the public.
About the conductors: Mr. Cote` is a former member of the U.S Marine
Band, graduate of the U.S. Naval School of Music and former Las Vegas
professional musician. He is presently teaching instrumental music in
Meriden Public Schools. Mr. Cailloutte is a former teacher in Meriden
and a graduate of Central Ct. State University.
The group rehearses on Monday nights from 7:00 Pm-9:00 Pm at Lincoln
Middle School 164 Centennial Ave. Meriden, Ct. 06450. If that Monday
is a school holiday and the schools are closed we rehearse at The Augusta
Curtis Memorial Center at: 175 East Main St. Meriden, Ct. 06450 (203)

Middletown
Symphonic Band (MSB)
Committed to the preservation of live concert band music, the band
was established to give both professional and amateur musicians an
opportunity to practice and perform together.The band has an extensive
repertoire and a loyal Middletown audience. Several educational programs
for area schools are conducted each year. MSB is directed by Marco
Gaylord.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings at Middletown High School Band Room,
Huntinghill Ave., Middletown from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM

"The Middletown Foundation for the Arts, in cooperation with the
local arts groups it funds, presents an evening of celebration of local
arts talent. The evening will provide attendees with a collection of
performances, ranging from a full orchestra to musical theater. Visual
arts will also be on display. The performances will be followed by a
reception."

Milford
Concert Band
The Milford Concert Band became the unanimous choice of the Board of
Aldermen as the "official community band for the City of Milford".
Says Conductor and Artistic Director Steven L. Saunders, "We are
very proud to be a part of this community, and our performances are
our way of saying 'thank you' and giving something back to the community
that supports us."

Sponsored by the Naugatuck Arts Commission, the Naugatuck Community Band
provides instrumentalists from the entire valley region and opportunity
to get together and make beautiful music. Naugatuck native, Charles Marenghi
is the conductor.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at City Hill Middle School
from 7:30 - 9:30 PM.

New
Canaan Town Band
This is one of the oldest town bands in America. Established in 1831,
(WOW!) the band plays for most community events such as the Memorial
Day Parade, the Fourth of July Celebration, and the annual Sidewalk
Sale. There are no dues and no one gets paid. Most members played in
high school and/or college. A few started playing after retirement,
and several are professional musicians who just like to play traditional
town band music.
Brad Williams became the new Director of the New Canaan Town Band in
December of 2006.

New
Haven Chamber Orchestra
The New Haven Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Gordon
Emerson,
the founder and Music Director.
Gordon Emerson previously directed the Civic Orchestra of New Haven
for 33 years and is its Music Director Emeritus. A graduate of the University
of New Hampshire he went on to receive a Masters Degree from Amherst
College
and a Master of Music Degree in musical composition from the Yale University
School of Music. Among his many past positions are senior music critic
of the
New Haven Register, principal percussionist of the New Haven Symphony,
record reviewer for Stereophile magazine, chairman of the music department
of Albertus Magnus College and for many years resident composer-music
director
of New Haven's Long Wharf Theatre.

Noank-Mystic
Community Band
In the late 1800’s, there were two bands: the Mystic Band and the
Noank Brass Band, They marched in parades, played at dedications, picnics
and during lunch hour at the Noank Shipyard. It was in this tradition
that the Noank-Mystic Community Band was formed in 1978. Today, performances
are free to the public, and include functions throughout the Southeast
Connecticut region. The NMCB is a non-profit organization dedicated to
the enjoyment of traditional band music for audiences and members alike.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:30 PM at the Cutler Middle
School during the school year, and at the Noank Firehouse during the
